Liverpool won the 2003 League Cup Final, beating Man Utd 2-0 on 2 March 2003 at the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff.
Going into the match as underdogs, Liverpool took the lead in the 39th minute from a deflected 25 year strike from Steven Gerrard.
Liverpool then fended off a Man Utd offensive, with Jerzy Dudek having to make several saves.
With Man Utd on the attack, Liverpool counter attacked, and after Dietmar Hamann put Michael Owen through on goal, he cooly slipped the ball past the keeper in the 86th minute, sealing the victory for Liverpool.
